The customs police dealt with 230 cases in cooperation with partner agencies during the month of July

Ramallah - 8/8/2024: During the month of July, the Customs Control Service dealt with 230 cases in cooperation with the civil partner agencies and the competent security services, within the framework of combating the phenomenon of smuggling in all its forms and protecting the national economy and markets from any illegal goods and settlement goods.
In the details of the cases:
123 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance to improve state revenues and provide the treasury with funds, which are detailed as follows:
- Arresting 74 tax and customs cases and transferring taxpayers to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 43 cases of goods coming from Israel that did not carry a clearing invoice were seized.
- 6 cases in the field of smuggled tobacco that is banned from circulation due to its economic harm and depletion of the state treasury.
70 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy to prevent the spread of corrupt and counterfeit goods and settlement goods, which are detailed as follows:
- Approximately 4.5 tons of expired materials were seized and destroyed
- Seizing 2.5 tons (of food supplies, cosmetics, and cosmetics) that did not carry an identification card in Arabic, and materials that violated mandatory technical instructions.
Approximately 489 pieces of bead toys and 121 boxes of fireworks were seized, which are goods prohibited from trading in the Palestinian market.
- 250 liters of diesel coming from settlements, banned from circulation, were seized.
In the same context, 20 cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to provide food and health security:
During which approximately 881 kg of expired materials were seized, and based on the decision of the competent authorities, they were destroyed.
- [30 kg and 158 strips] of sexual stimulants and nutritional supplements (which are materials prohibited from circulation and not licensed) and were delivered to the competent authorities.
- 402 medical equipment boxes were seized without official papers and in violation of specifications and standards
 11 issues in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, to support the agricultural sector and encourage local products, including:
- 3 cases regarding agricultural products that do not have agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from being traded by decision of the Minister of Agriculture.
- 8 cases of animal products that do not have agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from circulation by decision of the Minister of Agriculture.
6 cases of illegal communications in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy:
During which 45 postal parcels and 121 Israeli SIM cards were seized, which were banned from circulation.
- 57 postal packages and 36 cellular devices were seized, goods that did not have licenses from the Ministry of Communications, and the seized items were handed over to the Ministry until the legal procedures were completed.
 Finally, the Customs Police emphasizes to citizens the importance of their role in submitting reports about spoiled and expired goods via the toll-free number 132 or through the agency’s official page on Facebook.
