Customs Police seizes 16.7 tons of expired materials in cooperation with partner agencies during last September

Ramallah - 10/3/2024: The Customs Police Department dealt with 234 cases during last September in cooperation with partner civil agencies and competent security agencies, within the framework of combating smuggling in all its forms and protecting the national economy.
In the details of the cases:
115 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance to improve state revenues and support the state treasury, detailed as follows:
- Seizing 67 tax and customs cases and transferring taxpayers to the ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- Seizing 12 cases of goods coming from Israel that do not carry a clearing invoice.
- Seizing 36 cases in the field of smuggled tobacco, which is prohibited from circulation due to its economic damage and draining the state treasury.

Dealing with 75 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy to prevent the spread of illegal goods and settlement goods, detailed as follows:
- Seizing approximately 15 tons of expired goods and destroying them.
- Seizing approximately 24 tons (of food supplies, cosmetics and cosmetics) that do not carry an identification card in Arabic and materials that violate mandatory technical instructions.

In the same context, 32 cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to provide food and health security:
- During which, approximately 1732 kg of expired materials were seized and, based on the decision of the competent authorities, they were destroyed.
- Seizing [187 kg and 3852 strips] of sexual stimulants and nutritional supplements, which are prohibited from circulation and do not have licenses) and handed over to the competent authorities.

10 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and in support of the agricultural sector and encouraging local products, including:
- 3 cases of agricultural products that do not carry agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from circulation by a decision of the Minister of Agriculture.
- 7 cases of animal products that do not carry agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from circulation by a decision of the Minister of Agriculture.

Two cases of illegal communications in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy:
- ​​30 prohibited postal parcels were seized.
- 12 unlicensed mobile devices were seized from the Ministry of Communications and the seized items were handed over to the Ministry pending completion of legal procedures.
