The Customs Police Department dealt with 59 cases during the past week, during which 24 tons of expired goods were seized in cooperation with partner agencies.
The most prominent of these are as follows:
33 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance with the aim of improving state revenues and providing the treasury with funds, during which they dealt with:
- 25 tax and customs cases and transferring taxpayers to the ministry.
- 6 cases of goods coming from Israel that do not carry a clearing invoice.
- Two cases in the field of smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
24 cases in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health to prevent the spread of illegal goods and settlement goods and protect the food health of citizens, the most prominent of which are:
- Approximately 24.1 tons of expired goods were seized and destroyed.
- 108 kg of food products that violate mandatory instructions.
3 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture:
- During which a ton of liquid fertilizer and 2.5 tons of fruits were seized without an agricultural transport permit and were handed over to the competent authorities
- 5 kg of meat unfit for consumption and were destroyed.
One case in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy during which:
- 100 illegal phones and 61 iPads were seized and were handed over to the competent authorities.
