Ramallah_12/18/2024 Within the framework of the field follow-up carried out by the Commander of the Customs Police Department, Major General Iyad Barakat, he conducted an inspection tour, today, Wednesday, of the Customs Police Directorate in Jenin Governorate. The visit aimed to review the progress of work and follow up on current security and economic developments. Major General Barakat stressed during the visit the importance of enhancing security efforts and organizing commercial movement to ensure the protection of markets and stability of the situation.
During the tour, Major General Barakat reviewed the latest security developments and field challenges, stressing the need to coordinate with the competent authorities to keep pace with events and enhance economic security. He also called for intensifying efforts to combat smuggling and ensure the smooth flow of commercial movement. He praised the prominent role of the Customs Police cadres in achieving economic and food security and stability, despite the difficult circumstances the region is going through.
In a separate context, the Customs Police Department, represented by the Deputy Director of Jenin Directorate, Major/ Abdul Jarar, participated today, Wednesday, in an expanded security meeting headed by the Minister of Interior, Major General Ziad Hab Al-Rih, at the headquarters of the Jenin Governorate, to discuss field and security developments in the city and its camp.
The Minister of Interior, Major General Ziad Hab Al-Rih, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the "Protect the Homeland" operation will continue until its goals of imposing security and order, and establishing the rule of law are achieved, noting that the security forces are continuing their campaign aimed at preserving the law and protecting the security and safety of citizens, in accordance with the instructions of President Mahmoud Abbas.
This came during his chairing of a meeting to discuss the security and field situation in the city of Jenin and its camp at the headquarters of the governorate, accompanied by Governor Kamal Abu Al-Rub, a number of media professionals and journalists, and the Federation of Professional Unions in the governorate.
The Minister also called for resorting to a comprehensive national dialogue, through the legitimate national political leaderships, stressing the need to adhere to a single political program that expresses the aspirations of our people for freedom and independence, and protects our national project.
Minister Hab Al-Reeh stressed the importance of being accurate in publishing any information, and not publishing or transmitting news that would affect internal security and civil peace, pointing out the importance of the role of the media in conveying the word of truth, and not spreading rumors that would create disputes among citizens.
