Ramallah_18/2/2025 In the presence of His Excellency the Minister of National Economy, Eng. Mohammed Al-Amour, the Customs Police Department, represented by the Director of the Anti-Corruption and Inspection Department, Colonel/ Lutfi Nasser, participated in the meeting of the Palestinian Consumer Protection Council, which was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Economy in the city of Ramallah, to discuss the government's plan to control and organize the market during the holy month of Ramadan, and to ensure the availability of basic commodities at fair and reasonable prices that take into account the difficult circumstances that our people are going through.

It also stressed the importance of amending the Consumer Protection Law to be in line with global practices and technological developments, in a way that enhances the supervisory role of inspection teams, with special attention to e-commerce and service provision, stressing the need to expedite the completion of the observations required by the partners.
In the same context, the Council pointed out the importance of activating consumer protection associations and granting them their real role in educating citizens about their rights and defending their interests, in addition to taking measures to stimulate the work of these associations in accordance with their basic objectives. The Council called on merchants and manufacturers to take into account the difficult circumstances facing our people in light of the financial and economic siege and the measures of the Israeli occupation, which resulted in the destruction of infrastructure, the demolition of facilities, and the displacement of thousands of citizens, especially in the northern governorates of the West Bank.
