The Customs Police and the Ministry of National Economy organize a seminar on the role of regulatory institutions in food and economic security.

Ramallah, March 11, 2025. The Customs Police and the Ministry of National Economy, in cooperation with Palestine Ahliya University, organized an awareness seminar on Tuesday entitled "The Role of Regulatory Institutions in Preserving Food and Economic Security." The seminar targeted university students in the Bethlehem Governorate.
The seminar was attended by the Director of the Customs Police in Bethlehem, Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Karim Yasaytah; the Director of the National Economy, Mr. Muhammad Hamida; the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ihab Khalayleh; the Head of the Activities Department at the University, Prof. Bahaa Arman; and the Public Relations Officer for the Customs Police in Bethlehem, Major Hatem Al-Hadri, along with a number of students.
Dr. Khalayleh opened the seminar by welcoming the attendees on behalf of the university president, praising the role of the Customs Police in protecting the national economy. Lieutenant Colonel Yasaytah conveyed the greetings of Major General Iyad Barakat, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the Customs Police and the university to enhance community awareness of the dangers of smuggling, encourage investment, and ensure economic and health security. The seminar focused on the role of customs officers in combating the circulation of spoiled and prohibited goods, including those from settlements, especially in light of the increased consumption during the holy month of Ramadan.
