The Customs Control Department handled 136 cases last week in cooperation with partner agencies.
The most prominent of these were as follows:
110 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, with the aim of improving state revenues and providing the treasury with funds. These cases included:
- 32 tax and customs cases, with taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 77 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
- One case of goods arriving from Israel without a clearing invoice.
25 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health to prevent the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these were:
- Approximately 4.4 tons of expired and unfit food were seized and destroyed.
- Two tons of juices, energy drinks, and food products were seized in violation of mandatory regulations and handed over to the competent authorities.
- 76 packages of medical supplies and 24 packages and a half kilograms of unlicensed sexual stimulants were seized and handed over to the competent authorities.
- Approximately 700 kilograms of banned imported honey were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
A case, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, resulted in the seizure of:
- 32 unlicensed postal parcels. The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities.
The Authority urges citizens to report smuggled, spoiled, counterfeit, price-gouging, or monopoly products by calling the toll-free number 132 or via the Authority's official Facebook page.
