The Customs police Department handled 46 cases last week, in cooperation with partner agencies.
The most prominent of these were as follows:
26 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, with the aim of improving state revenues and providing the treasury with funds. These cases included:
- 12 tax and customs cases, with taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 3 cases involving merchants without a clearing invoice were seized, and fines were imposed on them.
- 11 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
14 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health, to prevent the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these were:
- Approximately 1,300 kg of food and cosmetics unfit for consumption were seized and destroyed.
- 260 kg of dates bearing a counterfeit trademark were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
- 2,650 kg of food products in violation of regulations were seized and destroyed.
6 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture. In order to protect and support the resilience of Palestinian farmers, the most prominent of these actions are:
- 3 tons of fruit, 4.6 tons of broiler chickens, and 6 tons of calves were seized without an agricultural transport permit and handed over to the relevant authorities.
- Approximately 2.5 tons of laying hens unfit for consumption were seized and destroyed.
- 186 kg of honey were seized in violation of mandatory regulations and handed over to the relevant authorities.
