Customs Police Handled 191 Cases in Cooperation with Partner Authorities During July

Ramallah_9/8/2025: The Customs Police Department handled 191 cases during July, in cooperation with civil partners and relevant security agencies, as part of its efforts to protect markets from the spread of spoiled, smuggled, and settlement goods, and to protect the national economy.
The details include:
100 cases, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, to improve state revenues and support the treasury. These cases are detailed as follows:
- 70 tax and customs cases, including the transfer of taxpayers to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 6 cases involving goods arriving from Israel without a clearing invoice.
- 24 cases related to smuggled and banned tobacco due to its economic damage and drain on the state treasury.
74 cases were investigated in cooperation with the Ministries of Economy and Health to prevent the spread of spoiled, counterfeit, and settlement goods, and to ensure health security. These cases include:
- Approximately 30.8 tons of expired food, supplies, and cleaning supplies were seized and destroyed.
- Approximately 20.2 tons of cosmetics, supplies, and pesticides were seized without an identification label and in violation of mandatory regulations. These were handed over to the relevant authorities.
- 43 packages and 2.5 tons of banned and unlicensed sexually transmitted products and cosmetics were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
- Fireworks cubes were seized, goods banned from circulation in the market.
5 cases were investigated in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture:
- Three cases of agricultural products and two cases of animal products were seized without an agricultural transport permit and unfit for consumption.
In 9 cases, in cooperation with the Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy, the following were seized:
- (400 Israeli SIM cards, 39 packages, and 17 GPS tracking devices), all of which are prohibited from circulation in the Palestinian market, and 10 unlicensed packages that were handed over to the relevant authorities.
In 3 cases, in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority, the following were seized:
- 40 tons of construction waste and 40 used car tires coming from the occupying state, in violation of agreements and laws. These tires were returned to their source.
The Customs Police Department calls on citizens to contribute by submitting reports of spoiled and expired goods via the department's toll-free hotline 132 or via the department's official Facebook page.
