Ramallah - August 19, 2025 - The Commander of the Customs Police Force, Major General Iyad Barakat, received a copy of the doctoral dissertation submitted by Captain Sonia Al-Darabi, a member of the force, at his office in Ramallah. The dissertation was titled: "The Reality and Prospects of Using Solar-Powered Treated Water for Irrigating Crops, the Extent of Agricultural Acceptance, and the Environmental, Social, and Economic Impact in the West Bank."
Major General Barakat praised Captain Al-Darabi's academic achievement, considering it a reflection of the force's cadres' commitment to academic excellence, alongside their professional role. He emphasized the leadership's commitment to supporting research and scientific progress.
For her part, Captain Al-Darabi expressed her appreciation to the force's leadership for their support and encouragement, explaining that her dissertation seeks to highlight the importance of renewable energy in enhancing the sustainability of the agricultural sector and achieving positive environmental, economic, and social returns.
