The Customs police Department handled 72 cases last week, in cooperation with partner agencies.
The most prominent of these were as follows:
35 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, with the aim of improving state revenues and providing the treasury with funds. These cases included:
- 19 tax and customs cases, with taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 3 cases involving goods arriving from Israel that did not include the clearing invoice were seized from merchants, and fines were imposed on them.
- 13 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
32 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health, to prevent the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these were:
- Approximately 2 tons of expired food were seized and destroyed.
- Approximately 600 packages of banned sexual stimulants and proteins were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
- 21 counterfeit photocopiers were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
Three cases, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, resulted in the seizure of:
- 118 Israeli SIM cards and 111 mobile devices not listed in the system.
- 14 unlicensed postal parcels. All seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities.
