Customs Police Hosts Higher Media Committee Meeting and Presents Technical Developments for the Central Operations Room

On Monday, September 1, 2025, the Customs Police Command hosted the regular meeting of the Higher Public Relations and Media Committee of the Security Establishment at the Command Headquarters in Ramallah and Al-Bireh. The meeting was attended by the Commander of the Customs Command, Major General Iyad Barakat, the Director of the Government Communications Office, Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Rub, and members of the committee.
In his speech, Major General Barakat emphasized the importance of the strategic role played by the committee in enhancing community awareness and conveying the security establishment's message with objectivity and credibility. He emphasized that the media is a key partner in strengthening trust between citizens and security agencies.
The meeting discussed ways to develop media performance and mechanisms for raising community awareness, in addition to strengthening partnerships with citizens to contribute to supporting security and stability. On the sidelines of the meeting, the committee organized a tour of the upgraded central operations room, where members were briefed on the latest technologies used to manage field operations, monitor patrols and their deployment, and coordinate effectively with partner agencies. Brigadier General Amin Al-Tamizi, Director of the Central Operations Department, reviewed the room's key tasks in following up on various reports and cases, emphasizing that these updates contribute to increasing work efficiency and accelerating response to incidents, thus enhancing public safety and security.
At the conclusion of the tour, the committee emphasized the importance of this step in supporting the security system, appreciating the efforts of the Customs Police in protecting the national economy and combating smuggling and tax evasion.
