Ramallah - September 9, 2025. The General Authority for Border and Crossings received the Commander of the Customs Police, Major General Iyad Barakat, on Tuesday for an inspection visit that included the travelers' lounge, the President Mahmoud Abbas City for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, and the new VIP building.
He was received by the Chairman of the General Authority for Border and Crossings, Mr. Nazmi Muhanna, along with the directors of the security and civil agencies operating at the crossings. A brief presentation was given on the progress of work and ongoing development projects.
During the visit, Major General Barakat was briefed on the services provided to citizens and praised the efforts of the Border and Crossings Authority in developing various facilities in line with the government's plan to facilitate travel and provide an integrated service environment for travelers.
Major General Barakat emphasized the importance of close cooperation with the General Authority for Border and Crossings, noting that this cooperation positively reflects on strengthening customs control and protecting the national economy, in addition to ensuring the smooth flow of travelers and providing them with the best services.
For his part, Mr. Nazmi Muhanna affirmed that the Authority is proceeding with implementing qualitative development projects aimed at enhancing the quality of services and achieving the highest levels of organization and coordination with all agencies operating at the crossings.
This visit comes within the framework of the ongoing cooperation between the Border and Crossings Authority and the security agencies, ensuring the improvement of services provided to citizens and facilitating their movement through the Karameh Crossing.
