15.7 tons of expired food products were seized last week in cooperation with partner agencies.
The most prominent cases are as follows:
30 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, aimed at improving state revenues and bolstering the treasury, during which:
- 23 tax and customs cases were handled, and the taxpayers were referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 3 cases involving goods arriving from Israel without proper documentation.
- 4 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.
20 cases in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health, to prevent the spread of illegal goods, the most prominent of which were:
- The seizure of approximately 15.7 tons of expired food products unfit for human consumption, which were subsequently destroyed.
- The seizure of 157 kg of energy drinks that violated mandatory regulations, which were handed over to the relevant authorities.
One case in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, during which:
- Approximately 200 kg of olive oil lacking an agricultural transport permit and of unknown origin were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities. In four cases, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, the following items were seized:
- 107 mobile phones and 6 unlicensed packages, which were handed over to the relevant authorities.
The Customs Authority urges citizens to report smuggled, counterfeit, or adulterated goods, price manipulation, or monopolistic practices by calling the toll-free number 132 or contacting the Authority through its official Facebook page.
