Half a Ton of Expired Sweets and Candies Seized in Hebron Governorate

 

Ramallah, November 6, 2025 – Based on information received, the Customs Police, in cooperation with relevant departments at the Ministry of National Economy, the South Hebron Health Directorate, and the Hebron Governorate, seized approximately half a ton of sweets and candies unfit for human consumption in Hebron Governorate on Thursday. The sweets and candies were deemed unfit due to their expiration dates, and their consumption could pose significant health risks to consumers.

Consequently, the relevant authorities ordered the destruction of the seized quantity using safe and hygienic methods, and the completion of all necessary legal procedures.

In a separate incident, and as part of joint security operations, and based on intelligence, the Customs Police and Preventive Security Service, in cooperation with the relevant departments in the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and the Ministry of National Economy, seized 215 kg of adulterated olive oil unfit for human consumption, as confirmed by tests conducted by the relevant authorities, inside a postal company in Hebron Governorate on Thursday. They also seized a quantity of sexual stimulants unfit for human consumption. The seized quantity was impounded pending completion of legal procedures.

In another incident, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the relevant departments in the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and the Ministry of National Economy, seized 105 kg of adulterated olive oil unfit for human consumption, also as confirmed by tests conducted by the relevant authorities, inside a postal company in Hebron Governorate on Thursday.

The relevant authorities ordered the impounding of the seized quantity and referred the case to the Economic Crimes Prosecution for further legal action. In a separate incident, during routine patrols, the Customs Police in Hebron Governorate seized postal packages containing approximately 40 packages of prohibited sexual stimulants due to their harmful health effects.

The seized quantity was impounded pending the arrival of the relevant authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
