Ramallah – 11/16/2025 Major General Iyad Barakat, Commander of the Customs Police, and his accompanying delegation met today, Sunday, with Colonel Jamal Asia, Commander of the National Security Forces in Qalqilya Governorate, at the regional command headquarters. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the security agencies in the governorate, contributing to market protection, preventing smuggling, and safeguarding the national economy.

Separately, Major General Barakat and his delegation conducted an inspection visit to the Customs Police Directorate in Qalqilya Governorate to review operations and the efforts of the staff in combating smuggling and strengthening the protection of the national economy.

During the visit, Major General Barakat commended the efforts of the field personnel and their active role in protecting the markets. He emphasized that these efforts contribute to preserving the Palestinian market and supporting national products. He also stressed the importance of continued coordination and cooperation and raising performance efficiency to address various field challenges. He noted the economic importance of Qalqilya Governorate as a vital agricultural and commercial region and a key gateway for economic activity.
