Ramallah – November 18, 2025 – The Commander of the Customs Police, Major General Iyad Barakat, conducted an inspection visit today, Tuesday, to the Customs Police Directorate in Tulkarm Governorate. He was accompanied by a delegation from the agency's leadership. The visit aimed to review the progress of field operations and the efforts being made to combat smuggling and protect local products. The tour focused on direct communication with agency personnel of all ranks and assessing their performance levels in light of the security challenges facing the governorate.
Major General Barakat commended the efforts of the field teams, emphasizing their vital role in protecting markets and ensuring the enforcement of laws. This contributes to supporting the Palestinian economy and the resilience of its citizens, despite the security risks surrounding the region.
Major General Barakat stressed the importance of strengthening full coordination with security institutions in the governorate and working with a sense of responsibility and dedication to ensure stability and protect the local economy. He affirmed that the Customs Police will continue its efforts to confront any attempts to undermine security and stability.
