Minister of Interior Ziad Hab Al-Reeh chaired a meeting today, Monday, at the Ministry of Interior headquarters, between the Economic Security Team and the Higher Committee for Public Relations and Media in the security establishment. The meeting was attended by Major General Iyad Barakat, Commander of the Customs Police and Head of the Economic Security Team.

In his address, the Minister emphasized the pivotal role of the Economic Security Team in strengthening the oversight system and protecting the national economy. He stressed that the team has become the first line of defense in preventing encroachments on public funds and combating smuggling and customs evasion, given the serious repercussions these phenomena have on the national economy and citizens' rights.

The Minister noted that the role of security media is essential in raising public awareness and promoting transparency. He emphasized the need to take practical steps to highlight and clarify the efforts being made to confront any illegal practices that aim to harm public funds or disrupt economic security. This is in line with the executive procedures for implementing directives from the political leadership to maintain security and public order and enforce the rule of law.
