Ramallah, December 3, 2025: The Customs Police, in cooperation with relevant civilian and security agencies, handled 275 cases during November as part of its efforts to protect markets from the spread of counterfeit, smuggled, and settlement goods, and to safeguard the national economy.
In detail:
153 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance to improve state revenues and bolster the treasury. These cases are broken down as follows:
- 114 tax and customs cases, referring taxpayers to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- 17 cases of goods arriving from Israel without proper documentation.
- 22 cases related to smuggled tobacco, which is prohibited due to its economic harm and the drain it places on the state treasury.
90 cases in cooperation with the Ministries of Economy and Health to prevent the spread of counterfeit, adulterated, and settlement goods, and to ensure public health. These cases resulted in the seizure and destruction of over 24 tons of expired food, supplies, and cleaning materials. - Approximately 6 tons of counterfeit goods (cleaning and personal care products and oils) were seized and impounded pending completion of the necessary legal procedures.
- More than 12 tons of cosmetics, food products, and pesticides lacking proper labeling and violating mandatory regulations were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
- 16,166 packages and approximately 420 kg of prohibited sexual enhancement and cosmetic products were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
- 72 pieces of agricultural supplies originating from settlements were seized and confiscated. These goods are prohibited from being sold in the market.
15 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, including:
- 14 cases involving agricultural products and one case involving animal products lacking agricultural transport permits or veterinary certificates, or which were unfit for consumption or prohibited by a decision of the Minister of Agriculture. In 13 cases, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, the following items were seized:
- (3,849 mobile phones, communication devices, and 460 SIM cards) – goods prohibited from circulation and lacking the necessary licenses – were handed over to the relevant authorities at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.
- 270 packages of goods prohibited from circulation in the Palestinian market were handed over to the relevant authorities at the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
In 4 cases, in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority, the following items were seized:
- 77 tons of construction waste originating from Israel, in violation of agreements and laws, were returned to their source.
