Ramallah, December 25, 2025 – In the presence of the Commander of the Palestinian Customs Police, Major General Iyad Barakat, and the Director General of Jordanian Customs, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Akalik, the Palestinian Customs Police concluded its specialized training program held at the Jordanian Customs Regional Training Center. Thirty-three officers and personnel from the Palestinian Customs Police participated in the program.
The five-day training covered specialized customs topics in the areas of enforcement and inspection, customs intelligence, and money laundering. The courses were presented by a number of specialized lecturers from Jordanian Customs, as part of a training program organized in cooperation with several international organizations. For his part, Major General Barakat expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Jordanian Customs Department and all those involved in the training process from the center's staff, for their efforts in implementing this program up to graduation day. He emphasized the strong relationship between the State of Palestine and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the importance of the support provided to contribute to the advancement of Palestinian institutions in general, and the Customs Police in particular.
In turn, Al-Akalik stressed the importance of the role played by the Regional Customs Training Center in providing sister customs authorities in the region with the necessary scientific and practical expertise, enabling them to perform their duties and responsibilities with high efficiency and effectiveness, and to keep pace with technological developments and the digital transformation in global customs. He added that the Jordanian Customs Department, under royal and governmental directives, is always ready to provide support and assistance to its Palestinian brothers.
