Nearly 4.5 Tons of Unfit Food Seized in Nablus Governorate

 

Ramallah, January 20, 2026 – During inspection tours of shops and markets, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the Public Safety Committee, seized nearly 4.5 tons of food unfit for human consumption in a warehouse in Nablus Governorate on Tuesday. The food was spoiled due to improper storage, which had led to visible signs of spoilage. Consuming this food could pose significant health risks to citizens.

Additionally, 400 kg of food products that violated approved technical specifications were seized due to their failure to adhere to the legally mandated expiration dates.

Consequently, the relevant authorities ordered the impounding of the seized quantities pending completion of the necessary legal procedures.
