Nearly 700 kg of Unfit Pineapple Seized in Nablus

Ramallah, January 20, 2026 – During routine inspections of shops and markets, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the relevant authorities of the Public Health and Safety Committee, seized nearly 700 kg of pineapple unfit for human consumption in Nablus Governorate on Tuesday. The fruit showed signs of spoilage and decay, and its consumption could pose significant health risks to consumers.

Consequently, the relevant authorities ordered the destruction of the seized quantity using safe and hygienic methods, and the completion of all necessary legal procedures.

In a separate incident, acting on information received, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the relevant department of the Ministry of National Economy, seized 14 kg of imported honey in Nablus Governorate on Tuesday. This honey is prohibited from being sold in the Palestinian market due to its harmful effects on public health. The honey was impounded pending the arrival of the relevant authorities to complete the necessary legal procedures.
