Governor Taqatqa praises the performance of the Customs Police

Salfit Governor Mustafa Taqatqa commended the performance of the Customs Police and its role in protecting the national economy, combating smuggling, and strengthening the rule of law, which positively impacts the public interest and protects citizens' rights.

This came during his meeting today with the head of the Customs Police, Major General Iyad Barakat, and his accompanying delegation at the Governorate headquarters. Also present were the Secretary of the Fatah Movement – ​​Salfit Region, Abdul Sattar Awad; the Head of the Union of Local Authorities; the Acting Mayor of Salfit, Abdul Karim Zubaidi; the Director General of the Education Directorate, Muhammad Al-Aqra; the Director of Supervision at the Ministry of Education, Muhammad Salem, and staff from the Directorate; and directors and representatives of security agencies and relevant bodies within the Governorate.

Governor Taqatqa praised the performance of the Customs Police and its role in protecting the national economy, combating smuggling, and strengthening the rule of law, which positively impacts the public interest and protects citizens' rights. Governor Taqatqa emphasized the importance of the Customs Police's efforts in protecting the national economy and enhancing food and health security for citizens through market monitoring and enforcement of regulations. He stressed the need to strengthen cooperation and integration among various official agencies and institutions to maintain public order, protect economic security, and serve the people of the governorate.

For his part, Major General Barakat commended the efforts of the governorate, represented by Governor Taqatqa, and reviewed the Customs Police's most prominent achievements. He affirmed the agency's commitment to continuing its work in accordance with the law and in ongoing coordination with the governorate and relevant security agencies to protect the national economy, ensure food and health security for citizens, implement the government's economic and financial policies, and contribute to improving state revenues by combating all forms of smuggling.

During the meeting, Major General Iyad Barakat congratulated Abdul Sattar Awad, Secretary of the Fatah Movement in the Salfit region, on his release from Israeli prisons, wishing him continued health and well-being and praising his steadfastness and resilience. In the same context, and as part of ongoing field monitoring, the Commander of the Customs Authority, Major General Barakat, inspected the work progress at the Customs Police Directorate in Salfit Governorate to closely observe the efforts undertaken by the Authority's personnel in the field.

This tour underscores the importance of continuous communication between the leadership and the directorates, and provides an opportunity to meet with personnel of all ranks.

During his tour, Major General Barakat emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to protect the national economy and the Palestinian market, ensure food and health security for citizens, regulate and facilitate trade, and combat all forms of smuggling.
