Major General Iyad Barakat Receives Turkish Commercial Attaché Mr. Koray Berksoy

 

Ramallah – February 2, 2026 Major General Iyad Barakat, Commander of the Customs Police, received Turkish Commercial Attaché Mr. Koray Berksoy at his office in Ramallah and Al-Bireh on Monday. The visit aimed to learn about the work of the Customs Police and to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise between the two sides in areas of mutual interest.

The Turkish Commercial Attaché was accompanied during the meeting by Nasrallah Zaqah, Assistant Commercial Attaché, and Rami Sab Laban, Projects Officer at the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).

During the meeting, Major General Barakat welcomed the visiting delegation, highlighting the role of the Customs Police in protecting the national economy, combating smuggling, and regulating markets. He also emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Turkish side to exchange expertise in the areas of training and administrative and technical development.

For his part, Berksoy expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Customs Police, noting the continuation of cooperation and the exchange of expertise in various fields.
