Ramallah - February 5, 2026: Based on information received, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the relevant departments in the Ministries of Health and Agriculture (Veterinary Department), shut down a processed meat factory (mortadella and sausages) in Tulkarm Governorate today, Thursday, due to its failure to meet the required health and environmental standards.
During the inspection, more than half a ton of processed meat (mortadella and sausages) unfit for consumption was seized inside the factory, as it showed signs of spoilage.
Consequently, the seized quantity was destroyed, and the factory was shut down until it rectifies its health and environmental conditions and completes the necessary legal procedures.
In a separate incident, during inspection tours of shops and markets, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the relevant department in the Ministry of National Economy, seized approximately 70 kilograms of food unfit for human consumption in Tulkarm Governorate today, Thursday. Due to its expiration date, consuming it could pose significant health risks to consumers.
Therefore, the relevant authority ordered the destruction of the quantity using safe and hygienic methods and the completion of all necessary legal procedures.
