The Commander of the Customs Police Receives the Head of the State Audit and Administrative Control Bureau

 

Ramallah – February 8, 2026 The Commander of the Customs Police, Major General Iyad Barakat, received the Head of the State Audit and Administrative Control Bureau, Ms. Amal Faraj, at his office in Ramallah on Sunday, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two institutions.

During the meeting, they discussed several issues of mutual interest and ways to develop oversight mechanisms to enhance integrity and transparency, improve institutional performance, and ensure the proper implementation of applicable laws and regulations.

Major General Barakat emphasized the Customs Police's commitment to strengthening its partnership with the State Audit and Administrative Control Bureau, given its fundamental role in supporting the oversight and accountability system. He stressed the importance of integration among official institutions to serve the public interest and protect public funds.

The visit included a tour of the central operations room, where Ms. Faraj was briefed on the latest technological advancements and mechanisms used by the agency. She also received a detailed explanation of the workflow and daily performance monitoring, reflecting the agency's efforts to develop and improve its operations. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continued communication and joint coordination to enhance trust and serve the public interest. Major General Barakat presented Ms. Faraj with a commemorative shield in appreciation of her efforts and contributions to serving the nation and its citizens.
