Approximately 99 tons of expired and unfit-for-human-consumption goods were seized last week in cooperation with partner agencies.

The most prominent cases are as follows:

25 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, aimed at improving state revenues and bolstering the treasury. These cases included:

- 24 tax and customs cases, with the taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.

- 7 cases involving goods arriving from Israel without proper documentation.

- 19 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.

48 cases in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health, aimed at preventing the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these cases included:

- Seizure of approximately 99 tons of expired and unfit-for-human-consumption food products, including chicken and dates. The seized items were destroyed.

- Seizure of 16,362 kg of food products, which were impounded pending laboratory testing and then handed over to the relevant authorities.

- Seizure of 61 kg of prohibited sexual stimulants, which were also handed over to the relevant authorities. Two cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, resulting in the seizure of:

- 19.4 tons of bananas and dates being transported without an agricultural permit. These items were handed over to the relevant authorities.

Five cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, resulting in the seizure of:
- 10 mobile phones, 26 tablets, and 10 cameras, all of which were not registered in the system. These items were handed over to the relevant authorities.

- 51 SIM cards and 2,767 packages of prohibited sexual stimulants were seized via postal parcels and handed over to the relevant authorities.

The Customs Control Department urges citizens to report smuggled, spoiled, or counterfeit goods, price manipulation, or monopolistic practices by calling the toll-free number 132 or contacting the department through its official Facebook page.
