Approximately 2.3 tons of expired food products were seized last week in cooperation with partner agencies.

The most prominent cases are as follows:

18 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, aimed at improving state revenues and bolstering the treasury. These cases included:

- 10 tax and customs cases, with the taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.

- 5 cases involving goods arriving from Israel without proper documentation.

- 3 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.

38 cases in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health, aimed at preventing the spread of illegal goods. The most prominent of these cases included:
- The seizure of approximately 2.3 tons of expired and unfit-for-human-consumption food products, which were destroyed, and 1,440 kg of food products awaiting test results.

- The seizure of approximately 28 tons of juices and other food products, and approximately 2.25 tons of empty containers (counterfeit goods), all in violation of mandatory regulations. - 3,300 kg of medicines and 67 prohibited dietary supplements were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.

In one case, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, the following were seized:
- 8 kg of imported honey, which was impounded pending the results of a test sample.

In one case, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, the following were seized:
- 15 packages of prohibited goods, which were handed over to the relevant authorities.

The Customs Control Department urges citizens to report smuggled, spoiled, or counterfeit goods, price manipulation, or monopolistic practices by calling the toll-free number 132 or contacting the department through its official Facebook page.
