Ramallah - February 22, 2026 In the presence of the Governor of Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, Dr. Laila Ghannam, and His Excellency the Minister of National Economy, Muhammad Al-Amour: The Director of the Customs Police in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate and the Jerusalem suburbs, Brigadier General Wael Al-Anati, participated today, Sunday, in a field tour that included a number of markets and shops in the governorate, with the participation of the head and members of the governorate's Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The tour aimed to assess the extent to which merchants are adhering to the announced prices of basic commodities and to ensure the availability of safe and high-quality products for citizens.
Prior to the start of the tour, the participants met at the governorate headquarters, where they discussed a number of related economic issues and mechanisms for strengthening cooperation between the relevant authorities to regulate the market.
The importance of regulating markets, protecting consumers, preventing monopolies, and considering the living conditions of our people was emphasized, along with the efforts exerted by the governorate's Public Health and Safety Committee and the inspection and monitoring teams in controlling and regulating the market.
