Ramallah - February 26, 2026 In the presence of the Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Dr. Hussein Hamayel, and His Excellency the Minister of National Economy, Muhammad Al-Amour: The Deputy Director of the Customs Police in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Farid, participated today, Thursday, in welcoming His Excellency Minister Al-Amour and in the field tour that included the markets and shops of the governorate. The tour was also attended by the Head of the Jericho and Jordan Valley Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Tayseer Al-Yassini.

The tour aimed to assess the extent to which merchants are adhering to the announced prices of basic commodities and to ensure the availability of safe and high-quality products for citizens.

The importance of regulating markets, protecting consumers, preventing monopolies, and considering the living conditions of our people was emphasized. The efforts exerted by the teams of the Public Health and Safety Committee in the governorate and the monitoring and inspection teams in controlling and regulating the market were also highlighted.
