The Customs Police received His Excellency the Governor of Jenin, Mr. Kamal Abu Al-Rub, at the Mithlon Center.

Ramallah, March 5, 2026 – The Customs Police at the Mithlon Center received His Excellency the Governor of Jenin, Mr. Kamal Abu Al-Rub, and his accompanying delegation today, Thursday, to review the progress of work and the efforts exerted by the field teams.

During the visit, His Excellency the Governor praised the important role played by the Customs Police in combating counterfeit and illegal goods and addressing smuggling operations, emphasizing that these efforts contribute to protecting public health and strengthening the national economy.

The Governor also reviewed the nature of the teams' work at the center and the mechanisms for monitoring and apprehending violators, commending the efforts made to protect the Palestinian market and strengthen the rule of law.

In another context, during inspection tours of shops and markets, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the Food Control Department of the Jenin Municipality Health Department, seized approximately half a ton of food products unfit for human consumption due to their expiration dates, which could pose a risk to public health. Accordingly, the competent authority approved the destruction of the quantity in accordance with health and safety procedures, and the completion of the necessary legal procedures in accordance with the law.
