Major General Mohammed Al-Khatib Chairs Meeting of the Higher Committee for Public Relations and Media of the Palestinian Security and Military Establishment

 

Ramallah, March 31, 2026 – Major General Mohammed Al-Khatib (Nidal Shaheen), Commander of the Palestinian Military Intelligence Service, chaired a meeting of the Higher Committee for Public Relations and Media of the Palestinian Security and Military Establishment on Tuesday at the Military Intelligence Service headquarters in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate. The meeting was attended by committee members and specialized staff.

At the outset, the committee reviewed the current situation in light of the circumstances and challenges facing the Palestinian arena, and the increasing responsibilities these impose on official media performance to keep pace with the times and preserve the national narrative.

Participants emphasized the necessity of unifying the media discourse within the security establishment to reflect institutional professionalism, enhance public trust, and contribute to supporting efforts to build Palestinian state institutions on solid foundations.

In the context of developing media work, attendees stressed the importance of utilizing modern digital tools, including artificial intelligence technologies, alongside strengthening ongoing training and development programs for public relations and media personnel to keep pace with the rapid developments in this field. The meeting also discussed mechanisms for managing media crises and the need for a high level of preparedness to deal with various scenarios, emphasizing rapid response to emergencies, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate information, and curbing rumors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Major General Al-Khatib stressed the importance of integration among the various components of media work and teamwork, which strengthens the role of the security and military establishment in protecting the national narrative and serving the Palestinian people.
