Customs Police Participate in Evaluation Meeting to Enhance Oversight and Combat Tax Evasion

 

Ramallah, April 16, 2026 – The Customs Police participated in a first-quarter evaluation meeting for Customs Police directors and Value Added Tax (VAT) directors. The meeting was attended by Colonel Lotfi Nasser, Director of the Anti-Smuggling and Inspection Department at the Customs Police, and Mr. Mohammed Qabaj, Director General of Indirect Taxes. The meeting reviewed performance and challenges in light of the current political and economic conditions, emphasizing the importance of strengthening coordination and joint efforts to improve oversight efficiency.

During the meeting, the second-quarter work plan was approved. This plan focuses on intensifying oversight efforts and combating tax evasion, as well as expanding the tax base, particularly in sectors less affected by the political situation, primarily the real estate and e-commerce sectors. This aims to support financial stability and enhance revenue sustainability.
