Nearly 3,000 Liters of Hazardous Materials Seized in Hebron

 

Ramallah, May 6, 2026 – Based on intelligence and as part of joint security operations, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the Civil Defense, the Police, and relevant departments at the Petroleum Authority and the Environmental Quality Authority, seized nearly 3,000 liters of a substance resembling used oil mixed with toxic chemicals in Hebron Governorate on Wednesday. The substance emitted a suffocating odor and posed a health risk to residents. Environmental Quality Authority personnel tested the substance using toxicology equipment.

Consequently, the relevant authorities ordered the seized quantity to be impounded at the Petroleum Authority and referred the case to the Public Prosecutor's Office to complete the necessary legal procedures.
