Ramallah – May 21, 2026. Under the patronage of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Customs Police participated in the Palestine Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence Conference, organized by the Palestine Institute for National Security Research. The two-day conference was held at Birzeit University and included the participation of leading experts, academics, and representatives from relevant national institutions.
Major Luay Shalash, Director of the Information and Communications Technology Department, presented a research paper entitled: "Enhancing Knowledge and Skills in Cybersecurity within the Palestinian Security Establishment: A Case Study of the Palestinian Customs Police." The paper addressed the importance of developing technical capabilities and improving the efficiency of human resources in confronting the growing cybersecurity challenges and threats.
The conference was held to raise awareness of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence applications, facilitate the exchange of scientific and practical expertise to keep pace with modern technological developments, and build a secure and sustainable digital environment.
