Customs Police Organize Joint Awareness Workshop in Deir Ballut to Promote Voluntary Tax Compliance and Regulate the Economic Environment

 

Ramallah - June 28, 2026 The Customs Police Directorate in Salfit Governorate, represented by its Director, Lieutenant Colonel Tariq Wahish, in cooperation with security agencies and partner organizations, conducted an awareness workshop in the town of Deir Ballut in Salfit Governorate, as part of efforts to support economic security.

The economic security team began the visit by meeting with the mayor of Deir Ballut and members of the municipal council to discuss mechanisms for strengthening cooperation and regulating the town's economic situation. This was followed by an awareness workshop for workshop and trades owners, presented by the Director of the Customs Police in the governorate, Lieutenant Colonel Tariq Wahish. The workshop addressed the importance of voluntary tax compliance and opening tax files, and their role in supporting the national economy and reducing tax evasion and smuggling.

Lieutenant Colonel Wahish emphasized the role of business owners in strengthening the resilience of citizens and providing employment, stressing the necessity of adhering to tax laws and public safety requirements. At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants welcomed this step and announced that they would begin to rectify their situation starting from 6/29/2026 for a period of fifteen days.
