Customs Police Chief Meets with Land Authority Head to Discuss Strengthening Cooperation and Allocating Land for Public Benefit

Ramallah - July 6, 2026 - The Chief of the Customs Police, Major General Iyad Barakat, accompanied by a delegation from the agency's leadership, met today, Monday, with the Head of the Land Authority, Minister Alaa Al-Tamimi, to discuss strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two institutions. They discussed several issues, particularly those related to allocating land to the Customs Police directorates in the governorates, with the aim of benefiting citizens and serving the public interest.

Major General Barakat expressed his appreciation for the cooperation shown by the Land Authority in addressing the agency's needs. He emphasized the importance of continued coordination between the two sides to finalize allocation procedures according to legal protocols, thereby supporting the work of the Customs Police and enabling it to fulfill its duties.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Tamimi affirmed the Land Authority's commitment to strengthening partnerships with various official institutions, in line with the government's directives to develop public services and provide the necessary infrastructure to enable institutions to perform their tasks efficiently. He noted that allocating land to government institutions is a priority due to its direct impact on serving citizens and promoting development. The two sides discussed mechanisms for strengthening joint cooperation to prevent and protect public funds and state property.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Major General Barakat presented Minister Al-Tamimi with a commemorative plaque in appreciation of his efforts and role in serving the Palestinian people.
