Ramallah – July 7, 2026 – During routine inspections of shops and markets, the Customs Police, in cooperation with the relevant departments of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Jenin Municipality's Food Control Department, seized nearly a quarter ton of lychee fruit unfit for human consumption in Jenin Governorate on Tuesday. The fruit showed signs of spoilage and decay, and its consumption could pose health risks to consumers.

Accordingly, the relevant authorities ordered the destruction of the seized quantity in accordance with health and safety procedures, and the necessary legal procedures are being completed.
