Nearly 7 tons of expired goods seized last week

Key cases handled in collaboration with partner agencies:

38 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance aimed at improving state revenues and bolstering the treasury. These cases included:

- 22 tax and customs cases, with the taxpayers referred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.

- 4 cases involving goods arriving from Israel without proper documentation.

- 12 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco.

28 cases in cooperation with the Ministries of National Economy and Health to prevent the spread of illegal goods. Key among these were:

- Seizure and destruction of nearly 7 tons of expired and unfit-for-human-consumption food and cosmetic products.

- Seizure and confiscation of 20 tons of imported veal and nearly 2 tons of food and energy drinks that violated mandatory regulations. These items were handed over to the relevant authorities.

One case in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, during which:

- 8 tons of lemons were seized without the required agricultural transport permit. These were handed over to the relevant authorities. In one case, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications, the following was seized:
- 64 packages prohibited from circulation, which were handed over to the relevant authorities.

In five cases, in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority, the following was seized:
- 49 tons of construction waste originating from Israel, which was returned to its source.

The Customs Control Department urges citizens to report smuggled, spoiled, or counterfeit goods, price manipulation, or monopolistic practices by calling the toll-free number 132 or through the department's official Facebook page.
