Ramallah - July 19, 2026 Based on intelligence, field monitoring, and surveillance to combat smuggling operations, the Customs Police seized a truck loaded with 20 tons of plastic and metal waste from Israel. The waste, intended for burial on Palestinian-owned land in Qalqilya Governorate, is considered hazardous to the Palestinian environment.

The relevant department at the Environmental Quality Authority was summoned and ordered the waste returned to its source in accordance with international agreements, and legal procedures will be completed accordingly.
