Ramallah – July 21, 2026 Based on intelligence, the Customs Police seized 2,266 packs of Arabic and foreign cigarettes, 143 packs of shisha tobacco, and approximately 7.15 kg of shisha tobacco from several shops in Salfit Governorate on Tuesday. All of these items are prohibited from sale in the Palestinian market as they are smuggled and illegal, leading to the depletion of public funds and weakening the national economy.

The seized goods have been impounded pending completion of legal procedures.

The Customs Police urges citizens not to sell smuggled and illegal cigarettes due to their serious health and economic consequences. They also encourage everyone to report those selling them by calling the toll-free number 132 or through the agency's official Facebook page.
