Ramallah – July 21, 2026 – His Excellency Hussein al-Sheikh, Vice President of the State of Palestine, held a meeting with the heads of the security services, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, Prime Minister of Palestine, and Lieutenant General Ismail Jabr, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Security Forces, to discuss the latest political and security developments and follow up on the current situation.
During the meeting, the overall political and security developments on the Palestinian scene were reviewed, in light of regional and international changes, and their repercussions on the Palestinian reality were discussed. Ways to enhance national preparedness, consolidate the rule of law, and maintain security and stability were also discussed, in order to ensure the protection of citizens and strengthen their resilience.
During the meeting, Sheikh emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and integration among the various official institutions and strengthening joint work between the political leadership and the security services, in order to contribute to raising the efficiency of performance, consolidating security and stability, and addressing the challenges facing our people at this critical stage. His Excellency stressed the need to continue working with a spirit of national responsibility, maintaining the highest levels of readiness and discipline, and strengthening citizens' trust in official institutions. He affirmed that security and stability constitute a fundamental pillar for protecting the national project and safeguarding the rights of our people and their national principles, in light of the challenges facing the Palestinian cause.
The security establishment leaders also reviewed a number of priority issues, most notably enhancing security preparedness, raising the level of coordination among the relevant agencies, continuing efforts aimed at protecting internal security, maintaining civil peace, and providing the best possible services to citizens in accordance with the law.
