On behalf of President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine, Minister of Interior Ziad Hab Al-Reeh awarded the Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Jason Langley, Commander of the Canadian Support Team, on Wednesday. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to strengthening bilateral cooperation and supporting efforts to develop and build the capacities of the Palestinian security sector. The award was presented during a reception at the Ministry of Interior headquarters on the occasion of the completion of Brigadier General Langley's mission in the State of Palestine. Also present were the Commander of the Customs Police, the Commander of the National Security Forces, the Commander of the Presidential Guard, the Director General of Police, the Director General of Civil Defense, the Minister's Security Advisor, and the Minister's Advisor for Aid Coordination.

Minister Hab Al-Reeh emphasized the deep-rooted relations between the State of Palestine and Canada, expressing his appreciation for the support provided by the Canadian government to the Palestinian people. He commended the role played by the Canadian Support Team in assisting the Ministry of Interior and the security sector through capacity-building programs and institutional performance development initiatives. These initiatives have contributed to enhancing the efficiency of security agencies and improving the quality of services provided to citizens, particularly in light of the current circumstances and challenges. For his part, the commander of the Canadian Support Team, Brigadier General Jason Langlet, expressed his deep appreciation for being awarded the Medal of Distinguished Service, stressing his pride in the partnership and cooperation between the Canadian Support Team and the Ministry of Interior and Palestinian security sector institutions, and appreciating the cooperation he received throughout his service.
