Ramallah – August 11, 2026: The Customs Police, in cooperation with partner agencies and relevant security bodies, handled 263 cases during July, resulting in the seizure and destruction of nearly 45 tons of expired food, supplies, and cleaning materials. In addition, quantities of smuggled goods, prohibited from circulation, and goods violating applicable laws and regulations were also seized.

These efforts are part of the agency's oversight role to protect consumers and safeguard public health, prevent the spread of spoiled, counterfeit, and settlement goods, and support the national economy and contribute to boosting public treasury revenues.

In detail:
143 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance to improve state revenues and bolster the treasury, broken down as follows:

- 70 tax and customs cases, referring taxpayers to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.

- 18 cases of goods arriving from Israel without clearing invoices.

- 47 cases related to smuggled and prohibited tobacco products, which are banned due to their economic harm and the drain they place on the state treasury.

108 cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministries of Economy and Health to prevent the spread of counterfeit, adulterated, and settlement goods, and to ensure public health security. These cases include:

- Seizure and destruction of approximately 45 tons of expired food, supplies, and cleaning materials.

- Seizure and destruction of approximately 3.7 tons of cosmetics, food, beauty products, and pesticides lacking proper labeling and violating mandatory regulations. These items were handed over to the relevant authorities.

- Seizure and destruction of 4 kg and 223 packages of prohibited sexual stimulants, cosmetics, and medications that lacked proper licensing. These items were handed over to the relevant authorities.

- Seizure and destruction of 104 boxes of fireworks, which are prohibited and were destroyed according to regulations. - 24.5 tons of counterfeit olive oil and 17 liters of chemicals were seized and impounded pending completion of the necessary procedures by the relevant authorities.

Four cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture:

- Four cases involving agricultural products lacking agricultural transport permits or prohibited by a decision of the Minister of Agriculture.

Two cases were handled in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority:
- 47 Israeli SIM cards and 64 postal parcels, all prohibited from circulation, were seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.

Six cases were handled in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority, during which:
- 89 tons of construction debris and solid and liquid waste originating from Israel, in violation of agreements and laws, were seized and returned to their source.
