Prof. Dr. Hussein Shanak, President of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie (PTUK), received a delegation from the Supreme Public Relations Committee of the Security Services. The delegation was led by Brigadier General Mujahed Alawneh, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department at the Preventive Security Service, and included members of the Supreme Committee as well as the Security Services' Public Relations Committee in Tulkarm Governorate. The meeting aimed to explore avenues for joint cooperation and strengthen relations between the two parties.

Prof. Dr. Shanak welcomed the visiting delegation, expressing his pleasure at the visit and emphasizing the vital role played by security services in maintaining stability across various institutions, particularly in higher education. He provided an overview of Kadoorie University’s history—dating back to the 1930s—highlighting its status as one of Palestine's oldest educational institutions and its eventual accreditation as the nation's first comprehensive public technical university.

Prof. Dr. Shanak noted that the university continues to advance on multiple fronts despite significant challenges. He explained that the university accommodates approximately 13,000 students across more than 120 academic specializations and degree programs. Additionally, the university offers an extensive system of scholarships and tuition waivers benefiting around 70% of its student body, thereby ensuring access to quality higher education for diverse segments of Palestinian society—especially given the difficult circumstances facing the Palestinian people.

He added that the university is continuously expanding its range of specialized academic programs, most recently introducing majors in allied medical sciences. He also highlighted the university's commitment to enhancing its international presence by achieving high rankings in global lists, participating in and leading international projects, and actively fostering student and academic exchange programs with international universities and academic institutions. For his part, Brigadier General Alawneh expressed his pride in Kadoorie University and its achievements, noting that it represents a remarkable story of resilience—particularly given its location along the "friction line" and the continuous attacks targeting both its main campus and the Al-Aroub branch in the Hebron Governorate.
He emphasized that the university embodies an exemplary model of social responsibility—especially amidst the challenging circumstances facing Palestinian society—through the scholarships and fee waivers it offers, as well as the high-quality higher education it provides in key disciplines, thereby expanding educational access for students from diverse backgrounds.
He added that the visit aimed to strengthen communication between the two parties and explore avenues for joint cooperation that contribute to bolstering the resilience of the Palestinian people and enhancing their ability to withstand difficult political, economic, and social conditions.
The meeting also addressed several issues of mutual interest, with an exchange of views regarding potential areas of cooperation between the university and the security services.
At the conclusion of the visit, university officials accompanied the delegation on a tour of the campus, visiting various facilities as well as the office of the student youth movement.
