Ramallah – September 23, 2026: The Customs Police participated in a committee tasked with monitoring the status of vehicle scrapyards. Working in coordination with road safety patrols, the Environment Quality Authority, Civil Defense, Traffic Police, and the Ministry of Local Government, the force conducted field inspections of several scrapyards across the northern governorates.
The inspections aimed to assess the condition of these facilities and verify their compliance with applicable regulations and directives.
During the visits, several scrapyards were notified of the need to regularize their legal status with the relevant authorities, and the necessary formal notices were issued to their owners in accordance with established procedures.
The committee affirmed that it would continue its regulatory inspections and monitoring efforts, taking legal action against violators—each within its respective jurisdiction—to help regulate scrapyard operations and enhance safety and compliance.
