Ramallah_6/12/2022: A press release issued by the Public Relations and Media Department of the Customs Police stated that it dealt with 315 cases during the month of November, in cooperation with the civil partner agencies and the competent security services, in the framework of combating the phenomenon of smuggling in all its forms and protecting the national economy. Moreover, he carried out inspection tours of shops and commercial, health and service facilities to ensure their implementation of health protocols for preventing the spread of the Corona virus.
The statement indicated that the cases were divided between tax and customs issues, in addition to issues related to the economic, health, agricultural, and public safety fields.
The details of the statement stated that the device dealt with:
- 226 cases, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, to improve state revenues and provide the treasury with funds, which are detailed as follows:
- Seizing 165 tax and customs cases and transferring taxpayers to the ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
- Seizing 58 cases of goods coming from Israel that do not carry a clearing invoice.
3 - Cases in the field of smuggled tobacco, which is prohibited from circulation due to its economic damage.
- Dealing with 54 cases, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, to prevent the spread of corrupt and counterfeit goods and settlement goods, which are detailed as follows:
More than 1,600 kilos of expired materials were seized and destroyed.
- The seizure of 9.4 tons of cosmetic and catering materials that do not carry an identification label in the Arabic language and are in violation of specifications and standards.
In the same context, 14 issues were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to provide food and health security:
- During which approximately 1 ton of expired materials were seized, and based on the decision of the competent authorities, they were destroyed.
- Approximately 62.5 kg, 42 packages of cosmetics, 200 packages of Turkish honey, and 372 sexual chocolates were seized, all of which were prohibited from circulation and did not have licenses from the Ministry of Health. They were handed over to the competent authorities.
14 issues in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, in support of the agricultural sector and encouragement of the local product, including:
9- A case for agricultural products that do not carry agricultural permits or import permits, or are prohibited from trading by a decision of the Minister of Agriculture.

- 5 cases in the field of telecommunications that violate the law, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology:
During this period, 16 illegal postal parcels were seized (does not carry the necessary legal papers), and 52 postal parcels of a company that did not have licenses by the competent authority were handed over to the competent authorities until the completion of the legal procedures.
Two issues in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority:
During which (12000 liters of used car oil for recycling + and 3 tons of chemicals of unknown origin) were seized, which is considered hazardous waste, which violates the applicable Palestinian laws and regulations, as it was returned to its source according to the Basel Convention
Finally, the statement stresses the important role of citizens in submitting reports about spoiled and expired goods via the toll-free number 132 or via the official page of the agency on Facebook, in addition to the need for them to adhere to the safety and prevention instructions issued by the Ministry of Health to limit the spread of the Corona virus.
