Ramallah - 3/9/2023 The Customs Police Service, represented by the Control and Inspection Department, participated in the conference of the Asian National Committees of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the Customs Police Service represented the State of Palestine in the conference, which was held in the State of Cambodia and lasted for three days.
The conference aims to review the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention within the Asian region, which provides the States Parties with the opportunity to exchange experiences, challenges, priorities, needs, and build capabilities to move forward in implementing the Convention in line with its constitutional requirements. It also discussed the necessity of shedding light on the phenomenon of waste smuggling and its harms to the Palestinian environment. It was also discussed. Emphasis on activating environmental laws that limit this phenomenon, which consists of the smuggling of solid, liquid and toxic waste into the territory of the State of Palestine.
