The customs police dealt with 392 cases in cooperation with partner agencies during the month of August

Ramallah - 9/13/2023 A press release issued by the Public Relations and Media Department of the Customs Police Agency stated that during the month of August, the agency dealt with 392 cases in cooperation with the civil partner agencies and the competent security agencies, within the framework of combating the phenomenon of smuggling in all its forms and protecting the economy. the National.
The statement indicated that the cases were divided between tax and customs cases, in addition to cases related to the economic, health, agricultural, and public safety fields.
  The details of the statement stated that the agency dealt with:
-212 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance to improve state revenues and provide the treasury with funds, which are detailed as follows:
  - Arresting 166 tax and customs cases and transferring taxpayers to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
  - 39 cases of goods coming from Israel that did not carry a clearing invoice were seized.
  -7 cases were seized in the field of smuggled tobacco banned from circulation due to its economic harm and depletion of the state treasury.
- Dealing with 119 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy to prevent the spread of spoiled, counterfeit and settlement goods, which are detailed as follows:
   Approximately 35 tons of food supplies, cleaning materials, and energy drinks were seized in violation of mandatory technical instructions, and were handed over to the competent authority.
   Approximately 15.2 tons of expired and unfit for consumption materials were seized, and they were destroyed by decision of the competent authority.
- Settlement goods in two cases (720 pieces of blankets and cloth and 5 air conditioner units) prohibited from circulation.
In the same context, 28 cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to provide food and health security:
During which 3.7 tons of expired and unfit for consumption materials were seized, and based on the decision of the competent authorities, they were destroyed.
  - (754 packages of sexual stimulants and cosmetics not licensed by the Ministry of Health) were seized and handed over to the competent authorities.
12 issues in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, to support the agricultural sector and encourage local products, including:
-8 cases of agricultural products that do not have agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from being traded by decision of the Minister of Agriculture.
- And 4 cases of animal products that do not have agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from circulation by decision of the Minister of Agriculture.
-14 cases of illegal communications in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology:
  During which 804 postal parcels were seized that did not have licenses from the Ministry of Communications.
- 129 Israeli packages and 65 Israeli communications SIM cards were seized. The seized items were handed over to the Ministry until the legal procedures were completed.
  7 issues in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority:
During which two cases were dealt with, amounting to 55.5 tons of construction waste coming from Israel and 174 car tires prohibited from entering the territory of the Palestinian state, and they were returned to their source according to the Basel Convention.
