Ramallah - 5/7/2024: A statement issued by the Public Relations and Media Department of the Customs Police Agency stated that during the month of April, the agency dealt with 201 cases in cooperation with the civilian partner agencies and the competent security services, within the framework of combating the phenomenon of smuggling in all its forms and protecting the economy. the National
The statement indicated that the cases were divided between tax and customs cases, in addition to cases related to the economic, health, agricultural and public safety fields.
The details of the statement stated that the agency dealt with:
81 cases in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance to improve state revenues and provide the treasury with funds, which are detailed as follows:
_ 55 tax and customs cases were seized and taxpayers were transferred to the Ministry to complete their commercial transactions.
_ 19 cases of goods coming from Israel that did not carry a clearing invoice were seized.
-7 issues in the field of smuggled tobacco that is banned from circulation due to its economic harm and depletion of the state treasury.
- 92 cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy to prevent the spread of illegal goods and settlement goods, and they are detailed as follows:
Approximately 96 tons of expired materials were seized and delivered to the competent authorities
- Seizing 7 tons (of food supplies, cosmetics, and cosmetics) that do not have an identification card in Arabic, and materials that violate mandatory technical instructions.
Two cases of prohibited goods were dealt with, during which (228 plastic beads) were seized due to their harm to the health and safety of our children.
_ In the same context, 21 cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to provide food and health security:
During which approximately 2 tons of expired materials were seized, and based on the decision of the competent authorities, they were destroyed.
_ Two issues were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, in support of the agricultural sector and encouraging the local product, including: -
-Two cases of animal products that do not have agricultural permits or import permits or are prohibited from being traded by decision of the Minister of Agriculture.
_ 3 cases of illegal communications were dealt with in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy:
During which 39 postal packages were seized that did not have licenses from the Ministry of Communications and were prohibited from being circulated except through Palestinian mail, and 125 Israeli SIM cards prohibited from circulating. The seized items were handed over to the Ministry until the legal procedures were completed.
Two cases were dealt with in cooperation with the Environmental Quality Authority:
During which 8 tons of solid waste coming from settlements and 80 tons of construction waste coming from Israel were seized, which is in violation of the regulations and laws in force in the State of Palestine, and they were returned to their source.
